At the finish line.

So far I have had a great summer starting with our trip to Florida and now doing Jr Guards here in So Cal with Tanner.  I have been doing some training too trying to stay in shape for paddling. I have really enjoyed doing some outrigger canoe paddling with a club here and its been fun hanging out with friends too.  This last weekend I competed in the Hennessey US Championships and got first in the 14 foot class.   Joe Bark made me a super fast, beautiful carbon board.  I loved paddling on it.  It was an overcast cool morning and I was expecting to paddle a six mile race but when I got there I found out that it was actually going to be  a nine mile race.  It took over two hours and really ended up being almost 12 miles!  Several racers had GPS watches on so they tracked how far it was.  I didn’t bring any hydration cause I normally wouldn’t use any for a six mile race and by the last lap I was happy to see that Joe Bark had paddled out to the turn buoy with some water for me.  Thanks, Joe!  Anyway it was a fun morning and good to catch up with everyone at the awards party afterwards.  Thanks to Hennessey for supporting our sport by sponsoring so many events.  Aloha, ST
